WASHINGTON – The House GOP s campaign arm is blasting Rep. Ilhan Omar over a tweet about alleged war crimes.
On Monday, the Minnesota Democrat tweeted a video of her exchange with Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a hearing by the House Foreign Affairs Committee. During the back and forth, Omar pressed Blinken on the struggles for victims of war crimes to get justice outside of the International Criminal Court.

The Minnesota Democrat leads the House subcommittee crafting a defense-spending bill at a time when President Joe Biden is pushing for an increase, Republicans want to spend even more and some progressives want to cut. I don t think there s going to be a defense bill that s going to ever be in the history as progressive as this one s going to be, hopefully, by the time I m done with it, McCollum said in an interview.

A leading Minnesota House Democrat involved in final talks over the state s next public safety spending bill said Thursday that he still thinks a dozen police reform proposals have a chance before an expected special session this month. Minnesota's two Democratic senators on Friday backed the bipartisan measure to investigate the violent Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. A majority of the Senate, on a 54-35 vote, supported starting debate on the bill to create an independent commission. But with only six GOP votes to do so, the measure failed to clear a 60-vote threshold the Senate requires to proceed on most .
