LAFAYETTE â Louisiana Tech third baseman Hunter Wells and UL Lafayette Raginâ Cajuns right-hander Connor Cooke were honored on Monday as the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) announced its state Baseball Players of the Week.
The award is based on nominations by the stateâs baseball sports information directors with voting by the state baseball SIDs and a statewide media panel. SIDs are not allowed to vote for their own players.
RUSTON, La. â In No. 4 Ole Miss baseball s first true road matchup of the 2021 season, little went the Rebels way as they dropped their first midweek matchup 13-1 against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Tuesday evening.
Josh Mallitz (1-1) went four innings on the mound and gave up four hits and three runs, all of which occurred in the first inning.
