federal investigation into hunter biden is over. can you explain this? this has been a lingering question. there s david rice, the attorney overseeing this investigation, has been in correspondents with capitol hill. he s made a point of saying this is an ongoing investigation. suggesting when he comes to the hill to testify, he s offered to come in september or october, that there maybe things he can t talk about because of an ongoing investigation. a lot of us looked at that and sort of read it as, of course, the justice department is going to refer to this as an on going investigation when hunter hasn t formally entered his plea, when the judge hasn t signed off on it, when we haven t gone through the sentencing process. but there was a lingering question is there a part of this investigation beginning on here? this is what they are affirming in court is that this investigation is ongoing. this appears to be a source of the tension that led to this plea deal to crumble.
