Indiana, PA / WDAD AM1450 & 100.3FM Apr 10, 2021 12:45 AM BASEBALL MARION CENTER – 12, HOMER-CENTER – 8 Landin Bennett strung together a 3-for-5 performance at the plate with 3 RBIs to help the Marion Center Stingers defeat the Homer-Center Wildcats on Friday. Homer-Center had an 8-7 lead after three innings, but the Stingers rallied back by mounting 5 runs in the final three innings to win. Bennett was helped by Ty Ryan, who went 2-for-4 with 3 runs on offense and struck out 8 Homer-Center hitters over 4.2 innings pitched. Michael Krejocic and Andrew Ruddock each went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Wildcats. The Stingers move to 3-1 on the season, while the Wildcats fall to 1-3.

Indiana, PA / WDAD AM1450 & 100.3FM Apr 9, 2021 1:49 AM BASEBALL HOMER-CENTER – 14, BLAIRSVILLE – 0 – FINAL/5 The Homer-Center Wildcats banged out nine hits in a 14-run mercy rule win over Blairsville on Thursday. Anthony Rowland earned the win, allowing just one hit in five innings, striking out six and walking three.  Rowland also went 2-for-3 on offense with a three-run triple in the first inning. Michael Krejocic went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and a home run. Both teams return to the diamond on Friday. Homer-Center will go against Marion Center, while Blairsville takes on Penns Manor.   SALTSBURG – 10, UNITED – 9 United rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh, but Saltsburg held off the Lions and won, 10-9, on Thursday. Angelo Bartolini hit a grand slam in the fourth to give the Trojans their first lead of the game, and Saltsburg scoredd four more in the bottom of the sixth to notch double digits.

Glendale s Colt Bickford named All-State

FLINTON — Glendale senior Colt Bickford was named to the 2020 Pennsylvania Football Writers’ Class A All-State team at offensive line on Tuesday. “I was pretty happy when I found out,” Bickford said. “I remember telling my dad at the end of my junior year that I wanted to be a Progress and Altoona Mirror All-Star and I wanted to be All-State. So I’m pretty happy to be able to hit the goals that I wanted.” The All-State selection is the cherry on top of a season like no other for Bickford and all area athletes and coaches who had to endure the COVID-19 restrictions..
