Photo: Paula KellerDavid Durenberger, former Republican U.S. senator from Minnesota who died this week at age 88, is remembered for his longtime support of the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and for his bipartisan approach to public policy.   Durenberger was a moderate Republican who served in the U.S. Senate from 1979 to 1995, becoming a champion of affordable healthcare, the environment, and the Americans With Disabilities Act.  He is the only Republican from Minnesota to be elected to three terms in the U.S. Senate.
