County commissioners from Trumbull and Geauga counties are expected to select one of seven bids submitted to construct a household hazardous waste recycling collection center in Geauga County using funds from the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District.
The project was bid out once before, but the bids came back in January as too expensive, and the project was bid out again with modifications. Of the five bids that came in about a year ago, the lowest was $1.696 million and the highest one $1.84 million.
Seven bids were received this time. The engineer’s estimate for the project this time is $1.2 million. Some of the bids had alternate specifications for either more or less of the base bid.
