UPDATE MONDAY 1:35PM: The Evans Fire saw no growth overnight and remains at 63 acres and is now 50 percent contained, according to a U.S. Forest Service news release. Firefighters will continue to mop up and improve the line around the fire Monday afternoon. Helicopters will continue to be used to address smokes within the fire area.

Prescribed pile burning will take place on Thursday west of Genoa, according to the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Smoke will be visible throughout the Carson Valley along Highway 395 and in the town of Genoa. Local fire departments are aware of this project.
