united airlines is getting a major backlash tonight from that video of the passenger being dragged up a fight sunday in chicago, the man refusing to give up his seat to make room for a united employee. the passenger was later seen appearing dazed with blood on his face. the united ceo issued another apology to david says his employees follow established procedures and called the passenger disruptive and belligerent. the officer who grabbed the passenger has been placed on leave. president trump spokesman saying today that the president is staying out of it. i think there is clearly going to be enough review both on the corporate side and on the law-enforcement side on how this was handled. i think from a human to human standpoint to watch a human being gets dragged down an aisle with their head banging up armrests and not think that it could have been handled better,
is that one thing that s changed after yesterday? well, one of the things i think you ve noticed about me is militarily, i don t like to say where i m going and what i m doing. i m not saying i m doing anything one way or the other, but i m certainly not going to be telling you. president trump had a very different view today. for president trump who in 2013 urged former president obama not to take action. so, now we re supposed to get involved with syria. i would say stay out. it s from a human rights standpoint, from a human standpoint. we ve been through this before. who knows what weapons they have? who really knows what weapons they have? and today u.s. ambassador to the u.n. nikki haley bringing photos of innocent victims to a security council meeting and ambassador haley warning, if the u.n. does not act, the u.s. will act on its own. and tonight republicans demanding president trump take a stronger stance and get syrian president assad out of power.
oppose it with what president obama did the other day which was a great example of literature where he said this was a veteran. however he put it, he was right this is america. you can protest. you can do it peacefully and i would just i would urge donald trump supporters if you see a protestor not only is it stupid from a public relations standpoint but it s just not good from a human standpoint. you know, so i know things get crazy. we get close to an election but that s not how you treat people. it s not a good rerepresentation. i also want to bring this up. they said it was an assassination attempt against donald trump. he son retweeted a tweet saying there was an assassination attempt. his head of digital tweeted. there was no assassination
part of the reason we wanted to shed some light on this story is the very human costs here of our very broken immigration system. unfortunately, the human cost the financial cost all of those seem to be the lowest priority for ice when they make these determinations. i mean clearly from a pragmatic perspective on taxpayer dollars, it makes no sense, and as you just indicated from a human standpoint, it makes little sense that they re separating a mother and daughter a mother who wants to be clearly a part of her life isn t going to go anywhere, wouldn t be a flight risk. it s irrational and absurd. what is next now for nan he? she has multiple cases open right now. she is awaiting an immigration hearing in august and has family
years ago and this is for many people a struggle today. all right trymaine. thank you so much for that. very interesting hearing from the people on the ground as they wait for the people to speak. joining me is charles oglefree, a friend and adviser to the president and first lady and clinton yates. let me start with you. as we look at these leaders from the past. leaders like representative john lewis and martin luther king jr. and so many of those who took part in that, this day, 50 years ago. why don t we see cingsingular leaders like that today? i don t know. i think it s a different time and age. i just think that the way people made names for themselves is different. but i would caution you to look at the people who are not there today. i must say, for as much as the gop leadership does in this country and doesn t do, i am flatly stunned that not more of them have made an appearance at selma. it just seems so easy on so many levels from a political win standpoint to an actual
