Meijer said it registered more than 35,000 people in less than 24 hours after opening registration for the upcoming COVID-19 vaccination clinics that begin next week at Ford Field in Detroit.
After some technical delays, registration opened about 4 p.m. Monday and increased by about 2,000 per hour Tuesday.
Since launching its COVID-19 vaccine registry in January, Meijer said it has registered more than 1.7 million people for the vaccine at its pharmacies and the Ford Field site across the Midwest. The Grand Rapids area-based retailer said it has administered more than 201,000 doses of the vaccine to Michigan residents so far.
