Vermont to end mask mandate for the fully vaccinated

Vermont to end mask mandate for the fully vaccinated WILSON RING, Associated Press FacebookTwitterEmail Vermont will comply with new federal guidance and eliminate the mask mandate for people who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Gov. Phil Scott said Friday. Complying with that guidance, which says those who have not been vaccinated or those whose vaccination is not yet complete should to continue to wear masks, will be done on the honor system, Scott said during his regular virus briefing. Scott is also moving up the state’s reopening plans by two weeks. Effective Friday, there will no longer be a testing requirement for travel, and capacity limits will increase for both indoor and outdoor gatherings.

Vermont suspends Johnson & Johnson vaccinations this week in response to federal concerns Modified: 4/13/2021 9:35:48 PM Related stories The state of Vermont suspended Johnson & Johnson vaccine clinics through the end of the week, Gov. Phil Scott announced Tuesday morning. The state made the decision “out of an abundance of caution,” Scott said, after federal health agencies recommended pausing use of the single-dose COVID-19 vaccine. Officials from the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a statement earlier Tuesday morning that the one-dose vaccine could be linked to rare cases of blood clotting. Of the roughly 7 million Americans who have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, six are known to have experienced clotting one of whom has died.
