THE Social Security Organisation (Socso) has paid out over RM19 billion in benefits to eligible contributors and family members over the last five years.
Deputy Human Resources Minister Awang Hashim said the amount has been increasing every year, with RM3.3 billion recorded in 2016, RM3.6 billion in 2017, RM3.8 billion in 2018, RM4.2 billion in 2019, and RM4.25 billion in 2020.

Suke fatal accident still being investigated after 2 weeks

It has been two weeks since the fatal accident involving the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Expressway (Suke) construction project occurred and the authority is still investigating the cause.
Deputy Human Resources Minister Awang Hashim (
above, centre) said the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) is still persistent in investigating the cause of the accident and if there was any violation of laws, DOSH will not hesitate to take action.
