A tenant at the centre of a bitter decade-long dispute with her landlord has until next Wednesday to find over $18,000 to cover late bills, or she will again be liable for eviction. The row between Rosy Armitage and Dr Shen Tat Ooi has simmered since 2012, but reached new heights last week when Ooi cut down most of the trees on the property (including one which held Armitage’s son Leo’s playhouse), encircled it with a hurricane fence and allegedly told the power company to cut off the electricity.

Residents of an Auckland community house fighting eviction will have to cough up more than $18,000 by next Wednesday to remain at the property.
Today Justice Brewer issued an order stating residents of Hum Hospitality can stay living at the Grafton heritage building while they appeal a previous court judgment enforcing Hum to pay GST on top of monthly rent.
