The pursuit went through Pierre and across the Waldron Bridge into Stanley County, then continued westbound on Highway 34/14 at a high rate of speed, where other law enforcement agencies joined the chase. There was minimal traffic on the roadway at the time.
A Haakon County Deputy successfully deployed a tire deflation device on Highway 14 at mile marker 159 between Nowlin and Philip. The vehicle slowed before driving into a pasture to elude police.
