Transurban Group assesses candidates for CEO job
Share
Motorways giant Transurban Group has started preparing for life after chief executive officer Scott Charlton.
It is understood Transurban’s board has had its representatives sounding potential candidates for the chief executive’s job in Australia and offshore, recognising that Charlton’s hugely successful tenure may be in its final chapters and it needs to shore up its succession planning.
Transurban Group CEO Scott Charlton took the reins in 2012 and is now one of the biggest names in Australia’s infrastructure and transport sectors.

Transurban’s soundings have included external candidates, while the internal frontrunner is widely considered to be Andrew Head who runs Transurban-controlled Sydney roads project WestConnex and has nearly two decades with the Australian tollroads bigwig.
