Jimmy Savile s Madame Tussauds waxwork melted down
26th Oct 2012 11:52am | By Editor The Madame Tussauds waxwork of Jimmy Savile, created at the peak of his fame in 1986, has been melted down.
Likenesses of Muammar Gaddafi and Adolf Hitler remain.
Also, an artwork of the late disgraced BBC radio and TV presenter sold to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Charity has been returned.
Painter Hugh Mendes contributed the work to the charity’s De’Longhi auction, as Savile had been a longtime supporter.
The picture sold for £400 but the buyer has since asked Macmillan to take it back, but keep the money.
