Hi-Tor Animal Shelter in Rockland County currently has about 80 kittens six months and younger that need a loving home - up 35 % from last year.
The shelter believes part of the increase is due to spay and neuter services being impacted during the pandemic.
If you ve been thinking about adopting a pet, consider adopting a kitten.
Executive Director Michael Salmond said, We re a very unique shelter in that our doors never close to animals who need care, but having said that the way we are going to be successful is if we augment the community into what we are doing.
