Rosemary Rimkus Hudson native Elizabeth “Liz” Tewksbary of Bolton has been writing daily letters to her granddaughter, Cohen, since she was born nearly three years ago. At the suggestion of friends and family, and the availability of self-publishing, “Liz” just published her third book for toddlers, “Smile With Me.” “Covid has isolated us, and the letters to Cohen were a good way to keep in contact,” said “Liz.” The letters were read to Cohen, who lives in Texas, by her mother, who was among those suggesting they would make good children’s books. The illustrations by Kim Soderberg are a perfect setting for the toddler books. “Liz” has previously published “My Mask and Me,” and “Just Like Me,” all suitable for ages 2-6 year olds. She has donated some books to the “CHAPS” center on Broad Street and other pre-schools, and they are also for sale at Bolton Orchards and “The Quilted Crow” in Bolton.
