DENVER â Colorado wants to pay people up to $1,600 to get back to working full time this summer through a program the governor is calling the âColorado Jumpstart Incentive.â
The program aims to get people who are currently still unemployed back to work, but some people will not be eligible even if they are still collecting unemployment. The program was created through an executive order announced Wednesday by Gov. Jared Polis.
Dave Campbell, vice president of human resources and risk management at Phil Long Dealerships, says his company has received more than 100 notices on employees who are still working for them. That doesn’t count another 10-15 claims from former employees who left the Colorado Springs-based company to take other jobs but were never unemployed.
