Astronomers have made an astounding discovery after NASA's Hubble Space Telescope found the farthest star ever seen, Earendel. But the title of oldest star known to man goes to Methuselah, with estimates from 2000 putting the star's age at roughly 16 billion years.
There are ton of NASA Hubble images, but a photo of a spiral galaxy won the fan voting for Hubble's best photo for 2021. In celebration of the new year, the NASA Hubble Space Telescope also achieved a new milestone as it reached 1 billion seconds in space on January 1.
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope is now back in operation after going into safe mode in October when a computer glitch led to failed synchronization attempts with the observatory's science instruments.
