SELLING a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) is not the same as selling a sedan, as McCann Erickson’s campaign for the Proton Exora shows. “People who buy an MPV do so to fit all their family members in. It’s not a car for me but a car for everybody, so a lot of other triggers come into play,” said advertising agency McCann Erickson group creative director Huang Ean Hwa in a phone interview at the end of last month. Launched on April 16, the Exora is national automaker Proton’s first MPV, after 14 years of making sedans. Proton’s “You will be amazed” campaign highlights three categories of the Exora’s features safety, performance and space in consumer-friendly terms, said Huang. According to industry sources, the campaign is worth RM6 million. It is being executed across TV, radio, press, online and outdoor media. KUALA LUMPUR: Dentsu Malaysia (formerly Dentsu Aegis Network) is bidding an emotional farewell to three veteran partners of Merdeka LHS, the creative agency it acquired in 2016. They are its CEO Tony Savarimuthu, and chief creative officers Huang Ean Hwa and Szu H. Lee.
Former CEO of dentsu Malaysia Nicky Lim and new CEO Tan Kien Eng are both grateful for everything these three have done in building, growing, and subsequently completing the earnout duration of Merdeka LHS and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours.
