Junior Achievement of RI nears 100th anniversary

Even during a global pandemic. “JA’s here. We’re not going anywhere,” said Lee Lewis, who took over as president of Junior Achievement’s Rhode Island chapter in 2007. “Even during a pandemic, there are still resources out there for teachers and students to help them along in their journey.” There s a good chance that you  or someone you know  has participated in a Junior Achievement program. The nonprofit organization was founded in Massachusetts in 1919, and it will mark its 100th anniversary in Rhode Island next year. Throughout the decades it has held the same laser focus on what the organization calls its three pillars: work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship. In that time, it has reached more than 400,000 students in the state, from kindergarten through Grade 12.
