Johannesburg - AYO Technology Solutions is disappointed in the high courtâs decision to dismiss its urgent application, chief executive Howard Plaatjes says.
âTodayâs (Thurdayâs) ruling was a disappointing setback in that the court did not hold with our apparent urgency and has been misinformed about certain material relationships on which he also based his decision.
âNevertheless, we remain determined to source alternative transactional banking facilities and continue our operations regardless,â Plaatjes said on Thursday night.

Battle lines are drawn as FNB infringes on AYO s right to trade

JSE-listed AYO Technologies has taken its battle for transactional facilities to the High Court after FNB infringed on the black-owned companyâs right to trade by moving to close its bank accounts.
AYO does not have any lending facilities with FNB.
In its application for urgent interdictory relief, AYO raised the issue of FNB taking a unilateral decision to close the black-owned companyâs bank accounts in the absence of good cause. AYO said it suspected that FNBâs decision was political and a new form of restricting black businesses from participating in the economy, in particular in the ICT sector.
