RXR welcomes celebrity chef to Starrett-Lehigh Building

RXR Realty announced that celebrated restaurateur and award-winning chef Marcus Samuelsson will lease over 5,000 s/f in the base of the Starrett-Lehigh Building in West Chelsea for new restaurant and culinary concept. The Starrett-Lehigh Building is a landmarked Manhattan property, encompassing a full city block between 11th and 12th Avenues and 26th and 27th Streets, with 2.3 million square feet of office and retail space. Samuelsson’s restaurant will be located on the corner of 26th and 11th Avenues, with outdoor entrances as well as an interior entrance for direct access from Starrett-Lehigh, making a new culinary experience available to office tenants and patrons.

Tweet Share When my colleague Margaret Littman gave y’all the heads-up that a new deli was coming to East Nashville to take over the former Marche space, to say that the reaction was overwhelming would be an understatement. In fact, when I showed up last week for a quick preview lunch at Shep’s Delicatessen, I saw that Margaret had beaten me to the punch and was already enjoying her meal at a table in the bright, airy dining room of the deli. That should have been a sign that people couldn’t wait to try out Shep’s menu of bagels, breakfast and fun takes on traditional deli fare — a fact that became apparent when I logged onto their website to prepare to write this First Bite.

NYC-style Jewish deli set for Five Points

Shep’s to open by month’s end in ex-Marché space A group of local investors announced Thursday it will open New York-style Shep’s Deli by month’s end in the former Marché Artisan Foods space in East Nashville’s Five Points.   Restaurateurs Howard Greenstone, Ken Levitan and Pennington Pribbenow will own the Jewish delicatessen, which will offer housemade pastrami, corned beef, chopped liver and traditional egg creams. Greenstone and Pribbenow worked together at Red Pebbles Hospitality, which owns Adele’s, 404 Kitchen, Bajo Sexto and Emmy Squared. The owners are not disclosing the cost to get operational.
