Dundee, Penn Yan schools outline differing return plans for post-holiday learning
Two schools in Yates County are taking different approaches when students return after the upcoming holiday weekend.
Cases of COVID-19 are surging across the state and Dundee Superintendent Kelly Houck said students will move to remote learning effective Monday. “Due to the recent increases in infection rate associated with confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in our County and in our Region, as well as several DCS faculty and staff members being placed under quarantine, the decision has been made to have all students pivot to remote learning,” Houck said in a letter. The intent will be for students to return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 19th. “This decision is being made out of an abundance of caution and has been made in consultation with the Yates County Public Health Department.”
