Over the past year, Keystone’s River Run Village has been relatively quiet and dormant save for the ski season and a handful of comedy shows. Event organizers held regular meetings to collaborate on the future of festivals in Summit County amid the pandemic and shifting health regulations. Now, the conversations have paid off with a full slate of summer activation for the ski resort.
“I’ve been describing it as drinking from the fire hose,” said Maja Russer, director of events and marketing for Keystone Neighbourhood Co., which produces festivals for Keystone.
Russer was optimistic and began planning out the summer a little before the county entered level green. She was able to rehire her entire staff of four full-time event professionals to carefully dip their toes back into the water with the mantra of “community, simplicity and safety.”
Frederick, Marylnd (PRWEB) June 04, 2021 The Frederick Festival of the Arts will be held along Carroll Creek Linear Park in the heart of Historic downtown
The city hosted parades in 2018 and 2019, while Holic was mayor. The current plan for the parade would mirror the 2019 format, with the students assembling at Venice High School, and the parade progressing west on Miami Avenue until Harbor Drive on Venice, then north to Venice Avenue. It would proceed east on Venice Avenue until Nassau Street. There it would turn north and proceed for a half block and enter Centennial Park.
“We have got a great school with great kids, they need the recognition,” Holic said.
At the park, there would be a gathering, with “free” hot dogs sold in exchange for a donation that would go toward the purchase of championship rings.
Assistant City Manager Len Bramble said Thursday that McGowan and other merchants may only have to wait until June 19-20, when the city hopes to host the Howard Alan-produced 28th annual Downtown Venice Craft Festival.
“We are keenly interested in how we might be able to carefully open things up slowly and methodically back up,” Bramble said, adding that the city has been chatting with representatives of Howard Alan Events about an appropriate COVID-19 social distancing plan. “We’re going to be discussing that with them early next week.”
After that, Bramble said the city hopes to be able to permit a July 4 fireworks display, then the Venice MainStreet-sponsored Venice Beach Party and the Women’s Sertoma-sponsored Sun Fiesta and the Chalk Festival at the Venice Municipal Airport Fairgrounds.
