Fire crews spent some 12 hours battling the inferno at the airport s £20m Terminal Car Park 2 after the multi-storey was engulfed by flames and caved in just before 9pm last night.
As many as 240 flights are expected to be cancelled today as a result of the disruption, with fire crews spending 12 hours battling the blaze, which is feared to have damaged some 1,500 cars.
The woman said she parked their car on the first floor of the multi-storey at the airport last night as she waited for her daughter to arrive from a holiday with her grandparents.
