Travis Scott’s emergency relief drive feeds over 1,000 Houston families after winter storm Over the weekend, the rapper and his Cactus Jack foundation stepped up to help Texans recover Following the deadly winter storm that hit Texas last month, Travis Scott and his Cactus Jack Foundation launched an emergency relief drive to help residents get struggling to get back to normal.  According to a press release, Scott, born Jacques Bermon Webster II, and the foundation partnered with the city of Houston to create an emergency food distribution program to provide 50,000 hot meals to residents adversely affected by the freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall.

Energy Sector Assisting Texas Relief Efforts Following February Freeze Following the devastating winter storm Uri last month that left millions of Texans without electricity for days and billions in damages, utilities and oil and gas producers, along with other industries, have stepped up to assist with relief efforts.  The damage and economic losses from the winter storms in February could reach $155 billion across the country. Damages in Texas alone have been estimated at $50 billion-plus. In reaction, energy companies with operations in Texas have donated millions. Houston-based Reliant Energy is donating $50,000 to the Houston branch of Rebuilding Together, a nonprofit focused on repairing homes, to direct support to at-risk seniors and military veteran homeowners to repair weather damage.

The Astroworld rapper gave back to Houston over the weekend in an emergency food drive to help those affected by winter snowstorm Uri. The news comes after the Missouri City native decided to hold a raffle for one of his prized action figures to support patients at the Houston Ronald McDonald House. On Saturday, the Cactus Jack Foundation was on the ground to help deliver supplies to Houston residents in need. The relief event took place at Willowridge High School in Houston. The drive provided Houstonians with necessities like fresh produce, water and PPE.
