The state-appointed superintendent of Houston ISD said he regrets closing schools as freezing, icy conditions settled in over the region. Mike Miles said he should have ignored “whining” and “people saying ‘we’re gonna cost people’s lives.’”
"We made the decision to close schools today. I’m not sure that was the best decision," Miles said on a phone call during a district advisory council meeting.
