Weiner Associates, Inc.), announce plans for the formal groundbreaking this spring for Sellersville Senior Apartments. This new venture is an affordable rental community, comprised of 50 apartments, eight of which will be dedicated as supportive housing. The Residences will be built to the highest energy efficiency standards utilizing the Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready program.

Tampa-based Southport Financial Services expects to buy the unused parking structure at the edge of Springfield at the end of May for site redevelopment into Parkview Commons. Southport Financial Senior Vice President Michael Molinari said March 11 that construction of the 122-unit affordable rental community should start by the end of 2021 for completion in a year. The almost 1.5-acre site is at 901 N. Main St., bordered by Main, State, Ocean and Orange streets, in the Springfield area north of Downtown Jacksonville. He said Southport will “bring much needed affordable housing to the historically underserved Springfield neighborhood.” Molinari said the almost $30 million development will have ground-floor parking topped by a four-story building that will have a leasing center, library, gym, community space and more amenities.

Fayetteville rent increases more than 10% compared to last year

The Fayetteville Observer After being named one of the top 7 cities in the nation to have a rent increase, Fayetteville rents slightly decreased in January, data from Apartment List shows.  At the end of January, Fayetteville’s median rent was $820 for a one-bedroom and $978 for a two-bedroom, the Apartment List report states.  That’s about a .2% decrease from the previous month’s data, but a 10.1% increase compared to last year.  Apartment List uses median rent statistics for recent movers taken from the Census Bureau American Community Survey.  “Throughout the past year, rent increases have been occurring not just in the city of Fayetteville, but across the entire state,” said Chris Salviati, a housing economist for Apartment List.

Sarah Mudder GUEST WRITER DEVILS LAKE -ND – The North Dakota Industrial Commission (Commission) announced today that six projects have received funding commitments from the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) to support the construction or rehabilitation of more than 200 affordable housing units. During its most recent funding round, NDHFA allocated $3.25 million in federal tax credit authority through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. When syndicated, the credits will generate approximately $29 million in project equity. NDHFA also awarded $2.76 million through the National Housing Trust Fund (HTF). “The development programs North Dakota Housing Finance Agency administers help to ensure vulnerable households have housing that is safe and affordable,” said Commission members in a joint statement. Consisting of Gov. Doug Burgum as chairman, Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring and Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem, the Commission oversees NDHFA.
