Eagle Lake First Nation
Eagle Lake First Nation has received federal funding to address an affordable housing crisis in the community.
Chief Arnold Gardner says they will be constructing 10 modular housing units to meet an immediate need in Eagle Lake.
Gardner adds it is imperative that this partnership between Canada and all First Nations grows every day to ensure that no First Nation youth, adult or elder is left without a place to call home.
Overall the Trudeau government is spending $21.1 million to immediately construct 85 affordable units in seven Indigenous communities in the Kenora riding.
Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation Ahmed Hussen made the announcement.
