would lineup in this manner. that is what happened. going forward, her rulings on these motions, and these pleadings are going to be critical and giving some insight to everyone as to how she is treating donald trump. is she dealing with him as donald trump the citizen, or donald trump the former president who deserves some sort of special consideration? all that remains to be, seemed it s going to come out slowly. on thursday, the doj asked the florida federal judge to disregard former president trump s request for indefinite delay. in his filing, special counsel jack smith said, quote, there is no basis in law facts for proceeding in such an indeterminate and open-ended fashion, and the defendants provide none. what recourse does special counsel jack smith have if judge cannon grants the trump request? there s always a possibility of an appeal but i don t see the granting of that request, elise not how it was made, very, likely at a minimum, we will
affect trump s case? not very likely, and it ultimately, i don t necessarily think that this will be anything that affects trump s case. on some level, any other federal indictment, superseding indictment, those are the things that could potentially impact donald trump s case. he s under investigation, as you know, jonathan in a number of jurisdictions for number different things. i think there are additional federal indictments that are lou maine, and those things turn florida into prosecutions that are going to head, then donald trump needs to have a different conversation with his attorneys about a legal strategy, and there may be some room there to try to push things down a little further, but ultimately, each one of those cases, they come forward, they re going to have the same goal. that is speedy trial, speedy trial, speedy trial, so it s difficult tactics around delay whether it s other places of legislation or policy to try to shield, him it s not going to work.
