Science and technology minister, SGF to appear before Reps over alleged procurement, other anomalies

This followed a motion of urgent public importance moved by Rep. Henry Nwauba at the plenary on Wednesday. Presenting the motion, Nwauba said that some serious management problems has emerged consequent to the suspension of the Director-General/CEO and Chairman, PRODA Governing Board, Comrade Onjeh Daniel. He recalled that the Federal Government suspended Daniel through the Minister, Science and Technology in a letter dated 17″ November 2020, ref No. – FMST/PARA/110/S.1/111/T. According to him, after the suspension, the situation at the Institute degenerated to alleged deception and fraud in the 2020 procurement process, indiscriminate suspension of officers and unprofessional victimization and conduct.

JABU graduates 430 students, 21 First Class, says VC

Ikeji-Arakeji (Osun), Jan. 18, 2021 No fewer than 21 students bagged First Class honours, as the Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), Ikeji-Arakeji Osun State, graduates 430 students from its seven colleges and various academic programmes. Prof. Kola Sonaike, the Vice Chancellor, stated this on Monday at a press conference, ahead of the institution’s 11th convocation scheduled for Friday. Sonaike noted that 395 students would receive first degree certificates, comprising 21 First Class honours, 181 Second Class Upper, 157 Second Class Lower and 36 Third Class, respectively. He added that four students would be honoured with postgraduate diplomas, while 31 others would receive Masters Degrees. “For first degrees , 83 of the graduating students come from the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences , 24 from the College of Environmental Sciences, 95 from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, 70 from the College of Law and 123 from the College of Management Science

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Kola Sonaike, who disclosed this on Monday during a press conference to herald the 11th convocation ceremony of the school, disclosed that a total of 430 students from its seven colleges and various academic programmes would be graduating at the convocation Sonaike explained that 395 of the students would receive first degree certificates, comprising 21 first-class honours, 181 second class upper, 157 second class lower and 36 third class, respectively. According to him, four students would be honoured with postgraduate diplomas, while 31 others would receive masters degrees.
