we ll have certainty in wisconsin so we can go forward in a more stable way. if you look at the other parts of the country, they are struggling with the same issues we are dealing with. we want to add certainty and balance our budget and save jobs. bill: what does that mean for other states. the debate shifts to ohio, tennessee and nevada, it s a long list. what s happening in wisconsin has become bigger than anyone ever thought. what is happening is other states are facing the same fiscal crisis we are. in wisconsin we do not want to lay off people, we do not want to lose jobs. we want to balance our budget and add stability and certainty for your citizens so we can have a viable future in wisconsin. bill: if you get concessions you are asking for, no one loses a
job, is that the case? that s correct, no one will lose a job. we need to give the local governments the tools they need. their labor costs are 80% of their budgets. this is not about busting unions or taking away collective bargaining. this is about saying we have to do our fair share for the public good. bill: are the senate democrats coming back to madison or do you have any indication that will happen in the coming days? we need them to come back to work. the democratic representative processes the elections count. and we took a big damage in sour state. we have a republican governor and senate majority and republican assembly majority. this is a huge new wave. citizens clearly they want our state to live within our means to get a handle on our deficits and go forward to create jobs and opportunities. they gave us marching orders and
popular. long they continue to keep on this message track of con trining them it would be irresponsible to continue down this road, they can win. but i agree, it s not a slam dunk for republicans. it s hard to cut popular programs. bill: you have 87 house freshmen who were dragging the leadership kick and screaming or clawing their way towards what they want to get done, bob. they are the ones who are dictating policy in the house. when the speaker of the house john boehner cannot get that second engine for an aircraft pass. then you no he doesn t have control over it. but having said that what is irresponsible for both sides is to convince the american people that by taking $60 million you are doing something on a $14ville debt until they both have the courage to step up to
