Equal payday has been celebrated as the Public Awareness campaign and to mark this day, president obama announced a pair of executive actions that will hopefully strengthen the enforcement of equal pay for women. One of them will band federal contractors for retaliating employees for discussing their pay. I want to take a moment and thank aew which is a wonderful organization that empowers women and who has been doing so for over 130 and aew has been organizing events all over the country on equal payday. This is an organization that i worked with washington d c years ago and their San Francisco chapter has been involved in education, research, and fa falanthropy. They draw a tense and awareness to young girls in our city and in our country, so on the occasion of the 2014 equal payday, on behalf of our board of supervisor, like to command ae work for raising awareness and for all of your efforts in the payday.
