William Crossing wrote more than 15 books about Dartmoor, with titles including Amid Devonia’s Alps, The Land of Stream and Tor, and Tales of the Dartmoor Pixies. Dartmoor National Park created a short film which shows Devon s hidden medieval village in the middle of Dartmoor.
The film, titled ‘Medieval Houndtor: A Contested Landscape’, shows new research as well as input from members of the Moor Medieval Study Group.
It was filmed between September - December in 2019 with almost 40 volunteers from Dartmoor and surrounding areas getting involved to help make the film.
