There will be a lot of events, activities and displays we have all enjoyed at the traditional fair. Livestock has always been a big part of the celebration, and will be happening this year too. officials said they have their “fingers crossed for babies to be born.” The Exhibit Hall will feature displays and be open to the general public to view. This is a major attraction to fairgoers and the plans are to show “phenomenal pieces.”

According to a Facebook group I am a part of, my hometown is celebrating a birthday today. It’s a big one… Not a major birthday, but a big one. Today, the town celebrates 190 years. According to Wikipedia, the town was first settled in 1807 by Aaron Putnam and Joseph Houlton, but it was not incorporated until March 8 th, 1831. Putnam and Houlton had made the move to the area from Massachusetts. While there are now few (or no) Houltons in the area, there are a lot of Putnams still inhabiting that part of Aroostook County.

You can already taste the dough boy and smell the livestock exhibits, can t you? Okay, so maybe putting those two things together was not the most appealing thought. Yes, we are still in the middle of the pandemic, but there is good news. The number of available doses of the vaccine increases each day. On top of that, there s a good chance we ll soon reach a level of natural herd immunity. Because of that, many people are hopeful we ll see the return of many of the state s summer and fall events in 2021.
