MANGALURU: Despite warnings from the government, doctors, public health experts, revenge tourism is gaining momentum as various states ease lockdown restrictions. Mangalureans are heading to Kashmir, the northeast and closer home, to Goa - some hitting the road as soon as their second shot is done, others keen to make a dash before a possibe third wave.
The health concerns notwithstanding, the tourist rush at beachside hotels, hill homestays and resorts has breathed a fresh lease of life into the Covid-hit hospitality sector.
