Financial Review Rich Listers the Laundy family have ventured outside Sydney to strike the biggest pub deal of the year so far, buying the Lennox Hotel near Byron Bay for more than $40 million.
Amid a flurry of regional and rural hospitality acquisitions by prominent hospitality operators including Lancemore and Iris Capital, the Laundys partnered with pub operator Fraser Short to buy the popular beachside venue in Lennox Head.
The two-storey hotel on the corner of Pacific Parade and Byron Street offers uninterrupted ocean views and includes a bistro, restaurant and bottleshop. Hollywood actors and Byron Bay locals Chris and Liam Hemsworth are among its regular clientele.
