RICHMOND, Va., May 12, 2021 /PRNewswire/ The Cordish Companies announced today a historic achievement in providing opportunities for generational wealth building for Minority communities. The Company, along with its 50% Minority partnership team led by prominent Virginia businessman and Pro Football Hall of Fame legend, Bruce Smith, shared it has achieved $180 million in direct Minority investment for the proposed $600 million Live! Casino & Hotel Richmond resort. The Company will also be offering additional investment opportunities for small, Richmond-based Minority companies and individuals to participate in the project. With a combined $360 million of equity investment in the project, Live! will carry half the debt of the competing proposal and ensure the financial viability and success of the development.

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The City of Richmond has updated information sheets online about the two casino proposals being considered.
The information sheets up have new and amended information to the original proposals by Live! Casino & Hotel Richmond and ONE Casino + Resort.
The Resort Casino Evaluation Panel is now going into the negotiation phase of the evaluation process.
The plan is for the panel to make a recommendation to Mayor Levar Stoney by the end of May.

One of the rejected bidders in Richmond’s casino race has threatened to sue the Virginia city over its selection process for a preferred developer and operator of a Las Vegas-style gambling resort.
Richmond received six bids during its request for proposals process and in late March culled half of them.
Casino operator Golden Nugget teamed up with year-old entity Bet on Gaming Holdings LLC to jointly table a project for a
$400 million hotel and casino that would have been located about six miles from downtown Richmond. The proposal was one of three rejected by the city in late March.

A group of Scott’s Addition residents in the Virginia City of Richmond on Monday walked out to protest the proposed development of a casino resort in the area.
Dozens of protesters stood along North Arthur Ashe Boulevard and West Leigh Street, the planned location of the casino, with signs in their hands and cow bells during the morning traffic rush to show their opposition to the mega-million scheme.
The Cordish Companies of Baltimore is the developer behind the project. The company has proposed to build a
$600 million hotel and casino resort in the heart of the city’s Scott’s Addition District. The property will have an easy access to I-64 and I-95.
