Unspeakable evil of Human Trafficking and the compelling reasons why we ought to do something to address it. I know that thats where the thats where the hearts are thats where the hearts are of all of our colleagues but somehow we have just been stuck and we need to get unstuck and i hope today will be that day. Of course Human Trafficking is a plague in all 50 states and my state unfortunately has way too much of its share. Id like all of our colleagues have had the chance to meet many of the brave victims of Human Trafficking. One i met last week in austin broken axle. Our friends at google convened a meeting there in austin. The Technology Community understands a lot of the solicitation of underaged girls and victims of Human Trafficking occurs on line and so they have come together to try to work with Law Enforcement, work with victims Rights Groups to come up with a comprehensive way to combat it so it google last week in austin i met rick brooke when she gave a moving speech. I was wondering how much of this book like you would connect to your own experience of how much is just from knowing people in these situations and just going off of that and come up with their own back stories of . You know, like when im writing sometimes i feel like its as though im standing in a field of kind of kneehigh dry grass. And im trying to my up to clemson ahead and im trying to make a fire. He was the person who worked out the deals with the railroads in new york and pennsylvania and ohio to all standard oils products. And flagler was noted for driving hard bargains, that he would get rebates from the railroads which would be reduced rates for flaglers, for standards products. Mek standard a big advantage over his competitors and that it could ship more cheaply over the railroads than they could. The other thing that flagler did was that he our region and the of the standard oil trust, a way of combining various Refining Companies into one big organization. Later on john d. Rockefeller was asked, who had come up with the idea and rockefeller said come well, i wish i had the brains to think of it but it was Henry Flaglers idea. So he was the key person in standard oil although hes not given much credit in the general histories. By the 1880s, standard oil was complete, it was a finished work. It

One of the things i got out of ordinary light was the differences between you and your mother and your experiences growing up africanamerican into united states. Right. The generational difference does one really big marker that determines a different set of experiences obviously that she had growing up in the south in the 30s and 40s and 50s that i had growing up in california and massachusetts in the 70s 80s 90s. When i was a child i had a hard time framing the questions i had about her experience into words.
