A private security company with ties to Windsor Mayor Dominic Foppoli is folding. The Press Democrat reports that Whitestar Security Group has had contracts canceled, severed business ties and made at least 40 layoffs since the allegations of sexual assault and misconduct were leveled against Foppoli, one of the group’s partners. One of the largest contracts lost was with Catholic Charities worth $500,000. Whitestar also provided security for shelters at Los Guilicos Village, Hotel Azura and Sebastopol Inn. It is also noted that Santa Rosa City Councilman Jack Tibbetts served on Whitestar’s board for a time and resigned days before the allegations against Foppoli came to light in the San Francisco Chronicle.
