Shortly after Pine Bluff High School s boys basketball team completed its run in the King Cotton Holiday Classic, Watson Chapel High School Coach Jevon Barnes publicly credited the Zebras on social media for putting the entire hoops community on notice with its near-championship performance.
Braylen Hall ran the point and led Pine Bluff High School in scoring Friday, as the Zebras remained unbeaten in the 5A-South Conference with a 65-39 win over Benton at McFadden Gymnasium.
The second-ranked boys basketball team in Class 5A held off the third-ranked team at McFadden Gymnasium on Tuesday, but more importantly extended its lead in the 5A-South Conference.
Three Star City players scored in double figures, and the Ladydogs took sole possession of first place in Conference 4A-8 girls basketball Tuesday with a 51-42 victory at Watson Chapel.
