Limpopo hot pepper grower looks to export
In their first year of planting chillies, Waltela Maree of Zandrivier Boerdery in Vaalwater, Limpopo, says the bumper crop of hot peppers has almost taken them by surprise. They planted five cultivars: Serrano hot peppers, two F1 hybrid hot peppers (Cadereyta and Impala) as well as two smaller red hot peppers, Hot Devil and Medium Red.

The latter two and the Impala hot pepper are suited to drying and Zandrivier has its own drying facilities. There will be both fresh and dry hot peppers available for export until May. Thereafter dried hot peppers will be available.
