Commercial radio, like most segments of the media, has been hit hard by a tough ad market in 2020, with the major networks forced into redundancies, restructures and other measures to keep functioning at a level resembling normal.

Looks to me they’re trying to copy the Christian O’Connell show on the basis that solo radio is cheaper and can work just as well.

Marty needs support. He’s failed several times in the past. The older and grumpier he gets, the funnier he gets… but he needs people around him. This is about his pay cheque, not the quality of radio or winning.
