Rights groups in Egypt urge President Sisi to refuse to ratify the unjust sentencing of the three activists, and reject the continued use of exceptional courts and bogus terrorism charges in retaliation against the state's peaceful critics.
On 17 November, two journalists were sentenced by the Egyptian Emergency State Security Court to four years in jail. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) today expressed concerns over this verdict and called on the authorities to release the journalists immediately.
