NORTHAMPTON Cooley Dickinson Hospital’s physicians and staff, almost a year into the COVID-19 pandemic, continue to work daily to deliver the best care to the public, says outgoing President and CEO Joanne Marqusee.
By putting in place a mandatory face-covering requirement for all staff, setting up a testing site quickly and establishing Zoom-based conversations for improving teamwork, Cooley Dickinson safely served patients as the pandemic hit last March.
“I was most impressed with how quickly staff changed,” Marqusee said. “People kept coming to work and doing the best they could. They would get together and would try new things.”

NORTHAMPTON Cooley Dickinson President and CEO Joanne Marqusee is leaving that position to become executive vice president and chief integration officer for Wellforce, a health care system that includes Tufts Medical Center.
Wellforce also oversees four community hospital sites in eastern Massachusetts, a large provider network and a homecare/hospice agency.
Marqusee joined Cooley Dickinson in 2014, following its affiliation with Massachusetts General Hospital and the larger Mass General Brigham system, and in announcing her departure called her time at the hospital during which she is credited with a number of accomplishments “the highlight of my career.”

NORTHAMPTON Joanne Marqusee, president and CEO of Cooley Dickinson since 2014, announced she will leave that role to become chief integration officer for Wellforce, a growing healthcare system in Eastern Mass. that includes Tufts Medical Center, four community hospital sites, a broad provider network, and a homecare/hospice agency. At Wellforce, she will be responsible for developing and enhancing system-wide services to support operational excellence and growth.
