South Windsor PZC to take up contentious warehouse site plan Tuesday

The South Windsor Planning & Zoning Commission will meet Tuesday night to discuss a site plan for a proposed 359,000-square-foot warehouse, a project that has drawn scrutiny from some neighbors who say the sprawling building and operations there would negatively affect their quality of life.

South Windsor residents plan protest of proposed warehouse

Some South Windsor residents living near the site of a proposed 359,000-square-foot warehouse say they plan to protest the project ahead of a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting tonight. In a statement, organizers said neighbors will gather at Town Hall at 6:30 p.m. to voice their opposition to the construction of the facility. The PZC meeting, at which commissioners are expected to review the land owner’s plan for the site, is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Massive warehouse proposed in South Windsor

A proposal to build a 359,000-square-foot warehouse in South Windsor is pending before two town land use boards. The site plan application of property owner UW Vintage Lane II LLC of Glastonbury calls for building the warehouse on 30.3 acres bordered by Talbot Lane and Governors Highway. The project, including building and parking, would occupy 5.3 acres of the land and have 54 loading docks, 118 parking spaces for trailers and 269 car spaces.
