Horry County Schools will mount a nationwide search for a new superintendent, after accepting the resignation of current Superintendent Dr. Rick Maxey on Monday, April 29. The board also heard a request from the Horry County Education Association, an organization comprised of district educators, to meet with the superintendent, HCS Human Resources reps and board members to discuss employment contracts.
