Hutchinson man gets 8-plus years for internet child solicitation
A Hutchinson man accused of soliciting who he thought was a teen over the internet for sex was ordered on Friday to prison.
District Judge Trish Rose sentenced Dylan Carey, 37, to serve 8 ½ years in prison after Carey pleaded guilty last month to two felony child sex counts.
The Hutchinson Police Department s Special Operations and Investigations Bureau arrested Carey after an online sting, and prosecutors charged him with indecent solicitation of a child by persuading them to a secluded place, and electronic solicitation of a child the offender believed was under 16.
His attorney filed a motion seeking a departure from state sentencing guidelines, but prosecutors objected.
