Christian County government and the Kentucky Division of Waste Management will combine forces to offer the always-popular waste tire collection event this weekend in Hopkinsville.
Jim Fleming is the county’s solid waste coordinator and says it’s funded with state funds and it will be Thursday through Saturday at Hopkinsville Elevator on Pembroke Road.
Christian County and the Kentucky Division of Waste Management will host a Waste Tire Collection Event in a few weeks.
Pennyrile Area Development District Associate Director Amy Frogue told the News Edge the event would be held at Hopkinsville Elevator – Caskey Branch at 4785 Pembroke Road.

A man with local roots has been named the new director of the Kentucky Office of Agricultural Policy.
Brian Lacefield, who now resides in Versailles, most recently served as the Kentucky State Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency, where he directed and administered FSA programs and managed staff across the state.
Lacefield previously served as market president at Trigg County FNB Bank. He has also worked as chief financial officer of Agri-Chem and general manager for Commonwealth Agri-Finance, both divisions of Hopkinsville Elevator Cooperative. He served as vice president of agriculture and commercial banking with Planters Bank and as an area extension specialist with the University of Kentucky Farm Business Management Program.
